Things to do in Rincon
Rincon is the center of beach life in Puerto Rico, and where the Atlantic meets the Caribbean to create world-class surfing. The focus here is easily the beach. Besides enjoying the comfort of your private beachfront villa, there are plenty of activities to keep you busy or help you relax. The ideas below are just a sampling of Things To Do and where to go. Go to Where Can I Find and also you may want to try El Coqui of Rincon to see businesses that are in Rincon. We have a more complete listing in our Sunset Paradise Guidebook located in each unit.
Relaxing/Laying on the Beach
Relax on the golden sandy beach just outside your villa, or snooze the day away in your own hammock over looking the ocean.
There are a number of great local dive shops, ready to serve you. They will be listed in our Sunset Paradise Villas Guidebook in your villa. Diving at Desecheo Island is not to be missed and is a short boat ride away. Our recommendation is Taino Divers.

Rincon has it all from some of the best Five Star fine dining, local Puerto Rican food, or fast food such as Burger King. We try to provide a list of restaurants in our guidebook section Restaurants as a service to our guests, but as you can imagine, it is very hard (almost impossible) to keep this guide 100% up to-date. It certainly is not an all inclusive list, but is meant to be a starting point and to be used as a guide. It is always a good idea to call to make sure they are still open, and check the hours of operation, get directions, etc. Also try going to Buen Provechothey are a newer web site that lists all the local restaurants in the area and a brief description.
Puerto Rico has it all, from quaint local shops to the largest mall in the Caribbean.
We are on the best swim beach available, just outside your villa
Watch the Sunsets
Make it a daily ritual. Enjoy a margarita, or your own special rum drink at the best place in town, your own private oceanfront patio. Every sunset is different, so see them all.
Like to try your luck? Mayaguez is just 15 minutes away.
You can start right outside your home. Not a lot of coral, but normally the fish hang out at the rock ledge. You will find good coral reefs from the Marina to the lighthouse, but some of the best is at Steps Beach or charter a boat to take you to Desecheo Island. See our Sunset Paradise Villas Guidebook for more information, Caution, Don't mess with Elkhorn coral reefs! If you break, take or damage Elkhorn corals, like those found in the Tres Palmas Marine Reserve, you can spend six months in the pokey and have to pony up $25,000 in fines.
Enjoy a scenic ocean side trail ride. Try Tropical Trails Ride or Pintos R Us.
Whales travel here to give birth. This happens during the winter (normally February) and one of the best places to watch is on your oceanfront patio. It is an amazing sight!
We are on the best “swim beach,” but the “surf” side is just minutes away. Rincon is known for surfing and has some of the best in the Caribbean. Surf Board Info there is West Coast Surf Shop, Desecheosurfshop, For a live “Surf Cam” look at the waves (high speed connection recommended) Surf Rider Foundation of Rincon.
